MEDIA RESPONSE:

FONO FORUM, Richard Lorber, June 2024 ☆☆☆☆
“(…) The live recording documents an exemplary performance in the Berlin Konzerthaus with outstanding singers who bring out the dramatic melos of an operatic style emancipated from Rossini, especially from the two leading roles of Lidia Fridman as Dalinda and Luciano Ganci as her recognized son Ildemaro. The whole project is commendable for the Donizetti reception and is in the best hands with the Berlin Opera Group. (…)”

RONDO MAGAZINE, Manuel Brug, June 2024 ☆☆☆☆
“ (…) It’s nice to still know this Donizetti facet, especially as it is sung melodiously by experts such as Lidia Fridman (Dalinda), Yajie Zhang (Ugo), Luciano Ganci (Ildemaro) and Paolo Bordogna (Acmet) and presented in a dramatically gripping way.”

MUSIC WEB INTERNATIONAL, Recording of the month, June 2024
(…) All in all, this is one of the most successful revivals of its kind I have encountered in recent years, providing an hour and a half of thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining Grand Opera, packed with melody and drama, performed by highly talented young artists with zeal and expertise.

BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE, Mai 2024 ☆☆☆☆
“(…) Lidia Fridman gives us plenty of thrills, with a dark fury in her tone and real dramatic presence throughout (…) Felix Krieger conducts his Berlin forces with drive and dramatic gusto, providing thrilling pace to this newly forged Donizetti melodrama.”

CONCERTI, Roland Dippel, April 2024
“(…) Precision, exuberance and joy in music-making: a Donizetti feast with impetuous pleasure and stylistic competence.”

MERKER Online, Jan Krobot, March 2024
“(…) A highly interesting discovery and a must for fans of fervently realized bel canto!”
